I have always been passionate about team sports and have dedicated my adult life to building youth and adult sport opportunities.  As a coach and mentor, I understand the importance of building championship-caliber culture as a foundation for any successful team or organization and try to bring that commitment to every youth, high school, and adult athlete I work with.  Opening the Sports Barn and starting Brown Bear Athletics has been a lifelong dream for me.  I fell in love with box lacrosse at a young age and found playing in a tight space with lots of pressure only helped my field game.  This surface and confined space translates to any other sport played here.  I have dedicated thousands of hours over the last twenty-five years growing and developing youth, high school, and adult basketball, lacrosse, flag football, floor hockey, and soccer in Arizona, Idaho, Montana, New Hampshire, and New York and can’t wait to continue this next chapter with Brown Bear Athletics at The Sports Barn in Missoula.  As someone who still loves playing, I maintain a deep obligation to give back and share the positive experiences I have had from prior coaches with the local youth and adult athletes in our community.

Coaching philosophy:

I am a firm believer in a “fast is fun” playing style where mistakes are just obstacles we can overcome through teamwork.  I understand that every individual is different and brings something unique to a team setting that we can harness and use as fuel.  Winning a practice through high-rep, high-intensity, small group stations allows us to best prepare for games through character-, skill- and IQ-development.

Jimmy is from Hogansburg New York where he played Sr B for a handful of box lacrosse teams in Quebec, Ontario, and New York.  Jimmy won an NABLL championship with the Thousand Island Spirits. Jimmy is a graduate of of the University of Montana where he played two and a half seasons and currently sits 3^rd all-time with the program in goals (110). Jimmy has 16+ years of lacrosse experience, has served on the UM coaching staff and joins Brown Bear Lacrosse where he has already made a mark helping develop the Battle of the Border and USBoxLA teams. Jimmy has played the last two seasons with the Rock Hoppers where he helped them to back-to-back finals appearances and won the 2025 MLL offensive player of the year. 

Bryce is originally from Carmel Valley California. Bryce started playing field lacrosse in 7th grade, found box lacrosse in 8th grade and has played both ever since. “I originally started as a defenseman but moved to goalie in 8^th grade. In 2018 I played for Braveheart lacrosse in the US Box Lacrosse National Tournament in Hunington Beach California playing against the U18 Team USA Box Lacrosse team amongst other notable opponents.” Bryce was a 4-year captain in HS and led his team to a conference championship in his Junior year.  Covid cut his Senior season short.  Bryce moved to Missoula in 2021 where he played goalie for the University of Montana. Bryce later went on to make the MCLA semifinals with The Griz in 2022.  Bryce has been committed to helping build box lacrosse with Brown Bear since 2023 and has been an assistant coach for the Missoula Wild since 2024. Bryce continues to play box in the Montana Lacrosse League and helped the Crusaders win the championship in 2024 and joined the Sled Dogs in 2025.
